FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a
' California Registered Geologist. Procedures for well installations,well development and soil
and ground water feasibility pilot testing procedures are described below.
4.1. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
' A soil boring for installation of a ground water extraction well will be advanced to a depth of
55 feet bsg utilizing a truck-mounted,hollow-stem drill rig and 10-inch diameter hollow-stem
augers; a soil boring for installation of an SVE well will be advanced to a depth of 40 feet bsg
utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers; a soil boring for installation of an IAS well will
be advanced to a depth of 55 feet bsg utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers; two soil
borings for installation of shallow ground water monitoring wells will be advanced to depths
of 55 feet bsg utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers and four soil borings for installation
of multi-level ground water monitoring wells will be advanced to depths of 145 feet bsg
utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers.Soil cuttings will be placed in a southwest portion
'• of the site and covered with plastic sheeting; rinseate generated during drilling activities will
be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums, and stored on-site in an
area lacking public access.Disposal alternatives for rinseate and stockpiled soil will be selected
' based on results of a laboratory analysis.
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals for logging purposes;selected soil samples
' will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified
laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
• BTEX compounds and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020;
' 0 Fuel oxygenated compounds including MTBE,TAME,di-isopropyl ether(RIPE),ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE)and tertiary butanol(TBA)by EPA Method 8260 Modified;
t and
• 1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) by EPA method 8260
Modified.
iTotal lead by EPA Method 7420.
' Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
• control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a
report with findings and recommendations.
Advanced GcuEnvironnnenlal,Inc.
