11 March 2002 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 95-0130 <br />' Page 10 of 13 <br />' Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a microbiological laboratory for microbial <br /> enumeration and physicochemical characteristics, selected soil samples may also be analyzed <br /> for Intrinsic permeability, moisture content, porosity and total organic carbon (TOC) in <br />' accordance with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods Laboratory reports for soil analysis <br /> and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with findings and <br /> recommendations <br /> 1 <br /> 4 2 WELL COMPLETION <br />' The ground water extraction well will be completed utilizing a single 6-inch diameter schedule <br /> 40 polyvinylchloride(PVC)well casing with 20 feet of 0 030-inch slotted well screen,the SVE <br />' well will be completed utilizing single 4-inch diameter schedule 40 PVC well casings with 30 <br /> feet of 0 020-inch slotted well screen, the IAS well boring will be completed utilizing single <br /> 2-mch diameter schedule 40 PVC well casing with 5 feet of 0 020-inch slotted well screen, <br />' ground water monitoring wells MW-8 and MW-9 will be completed utilizing 2-inch diameter <br /> schedule 40 PVC well casings with 20 feet of 0 020-inch slotted well screen Proposed well <br /> construction diagrams are depicted in Figures 4, 5, 6 and 7 <br />' Soil borings MW-10, MW-11,MW-12 and MW-13 will be completed as multi-level ground water <br /> monitoring wells utilizing 1 7-Inch diameter polyethylene (outer) tubing The inner tubing will <br />' consist of multiple V2-inch diameter teflon tubes partitioned into separate chambers A stainless steel, <br /> 0 02-inch screen will be wrapped around each perforated area of the tubing A proposed well <br /> construction diagram is depicted In Figure 8 <br />' After installing the well casing in each boring, a filter pack material will be slowly emplaced <br /> through the augers over the screen Interval to approximately two feet above the screened <br />' intervals, filter pack material in the ground water extraction well will consist of a 50150 blend <br /> of pre-washed small-grained aquarium gravel and#3 Lonestar sand, filter pack material in the <br /> SVE wells,IAS well and groundwater monitoring wells will consist ofpre-washed#3 Lonestar <br /> sand Following placement of the filter pack, the screened interval from each well will be <br /> surged for approximately 20 minutes utilizing a surge block to assist in settling the filter pack <br /> Additional filter pack material will be added If settling occurs <br /> -foot bentonite seal bentonite pellets) will be laced above the filter pack to <br /> A nominal two ( p ) P <br /> minimize the potential for grout penetration into the screened section of the well, coated <br /> bentonite pellets will be utilized in areas submerged beneath ground water The bentonite seal <br /> will be formed by pouring bentonite pellets into the annulus and allowing the pellets to settle <br /> on the filter pack The bentonite pellets will be allowed to hydrate with tap water for a <br /> minimum of one-half hour prior to grouting <br /> The remaining annular space will be filled to the ground surface with a cement grout The grout <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
