And Well Survey <br /> 1340 West Washington Street, Stockton, CA <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This report has been prepared by Robert A Booher Consulting(RAB Consulting) for the <br /> exclusive use by California Cedar Products, Inc Our professional services have been performed <br /> using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised for similar projects in this geographic area <br /> at the time the work was conducted, by geologists and engineers practicing in this field <br /> This p <br /> report resents the findings of our subsurface exploration and sampling and analysis of soil <br /> p <br /> and groundwater samples collected on July 21, 2003 Also included are the results of our Well <br /> Survey conducted during August and September of 2003 The work was performed in <br /> accordance with the scope of work requested by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD, or County) in their November 212002 letter to Cal <br /> ICedar The field exploration was conducted under County Well Permit Application No <br /> SR0031103 <br />' The purpose of the work was to conduct additional investigation of the vertical and lateral extent <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbon(diesel fuel) impacts to soil and groundwater in the vicinity of the <br /> former underground storage tanks (USTs) and determine the thickness of the clay aquitard The <br /> scope of work included advancing five exploratory probes at the locations shown on Plate 2 as <br /> proposed in RAB Consulting's October 2002 Recommendations and the July 2003 Workplan <br /> . Addendum A further purpose was to assess the potential impacts to the nearby groundwater and <br /> surface water environment through a well canvas or well survey in conjunction with an <br /> evaluation of natural potential sensitive receptors in the near by area <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work for our additional soil and groundwater investigation and well survey <br /> included the following activities <br /> • Extended permit#SR0031103 from the PHS-EHD for exploratory probes, <br /> • Directing and logging the advancement of five exploratory probes/hydro-punches (HP-1 <br /> to HP-5), <br /> • Collecting samples of soil from the probes for chemical analyses and selected physical <br />' properties and logging the subsurface soils encountered, <br /> • Collecting grab-groundwater samples from each probe for chemical analyses, <br />' • Conducting well survey in the site vicinity, and <br />' • Preparing this summary report of findings <br /> Robert A Booher Consulting 1 November 6, 2003 <br /> I <br />
