SUMMARY OF SITE ASSESSMENT ACTIONS AND �` 1 <br /> REMEDIAL ACTIONS AT KAYO STATIONS IN THE <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION ENVIROMENTAL HL ",LTH <br /> FEBRUARY 13, 1987 FERMIT/SERVICr-S <br /> JACKSON - 851 Nogth Highway 9 <br /> Kayo is presently conducting a Phase II site investigation to <br /> better define the extent of the contamination. A remediation <br /> plan will be prepared and submitted las soon as the site <br /> assessment work is completed . The underground tanks were <br /> tested in December 1986 and shown to be tight . <br /> ELMA - 1705 second tr e <br /> The Phase I site investigation was completed In January 1987 <br /> andindicated groundwater contamination. A Phase II <br /> Investigation plan and a remediation plan are being prepared. <br /> FRESNO - 1919 West Clinton <br /> A plan for groundwater remediation has been submitted for <br /> review. We are presently acquiring the necessary permits for <br /> operation of a groundwater recovery system and air stripper . <br /> FRESNO - 525 South Clovis <br /> The Phase I site investigation, whi h Included 3 soil borings, <br /> and 1 groundwater monitoring, indicated no soil contamination <br /> and only very minor groundwater well contamination ( 2 ppb <br /> Benzene ) . Kayo will continue to monitor this site quarterly <br /> through November 1987 to note any changes in the levels of <br /> contaminants . <br /> TRACY -- 153 East 11th Street <br /> The Phase I site investigation ( 3 monitoring wells ) indicated <br /> some soil and groundwater contamination. The soil <br /> contamination was mitigated by excavating the contaminated <br /> soil from beneath the tanks. A plan for Phase II site <br /> Investigation work plan is being prepared and will be <br /> submitted for review as soon as possible . <br /> D - 900 Soutb Cherokee Lanp, <br /> A Phase I site investigation was conducted and indicates soil <br /> and groundwater contamination. - A Phase II investigation plan <br /> has been developed to better define the contamination <br /> problem. A comprehensive subsurface Investigation report <br /> will be prepared and submitted prior to the developemnt of a <br /> mitigation plan. The underground tanks were tested in the <br /> fall of 1986 and were found ,to' be tight . <br />
