IT CORPORATION <br />At the Stockton station, private wells are fairly close to the station <br />but screened intervals are deep. The length of the path to the wells <br />from the station is greater than the map distance shown, since the con- <br />taminant will have to travel downward as well as laterally to reach the <br />wells. The length of the path is important, as some of the hydrocarbons <br />,« will be trapped in the soils or degraded by bacteria over the course of <br />the trip from the source area to a well. <br />3.3 GROUND WATER SAMPLING <br />r" 4 <br />On June 24, 1985, a water sample was collected from wells MW -5, MW -b, <br />and MW -7 by a representative of Multi -Tech Laboratories. Prior to samp- <br />ling, an IT technician developed each well using a clean teflon bailer <br />to evacuate four to ten well bore volumes from the well. <br />
