IT coRPORATION
` Mr. J. Kelly WAIlliamson
Kayo Oil Company
March 14, 1985
page 2
four-foot wide silty sand cense in OH-4 at the 18-foot interval.ut The
top of the OH-1 profile also consists of sandy silt and clays,
underlain by silty sands below the 8-foot level.
Conclusions and Recommendations
The soils samples from OH-1 indicate that there are hydrocarbons in the
soils above the water table in the vicinity of the regular gasoline
tank. This may be due to either spillage while filling the tanks or
leakage from the tank or piping. We recommend that you notify the local
agencies and the Regional Water Quality Control Board of the presence of
hydrocarbons in the soils. The tanks, piping, and inventory records
should be checked to determine if an active leak is present. Three
wells, one on the west and east sides of the regular tank and one at the
north end of the other two tanks, are recommended to determine if there
is a significant problem at this station.
We trust the information contained herein meets your needs t this time.
If you have any questions concerning this work, please
to
contact me at our Martinez, California, office (415) 228-8400.
Very truly yours,
Robert M.
