There was standing liquid in the bag,which was not completely <br /> absorbed by the absorbent pad (IMG 2895-2898). The store manager indicated he did not know who placed the <br /> bottles into the HW tote. The store manager stated he would have more absorbent added to the bag to absorb the <br /> standing liquid. <br /> -A Corrosive Base HW tote was found containing a Garnier Olia Brilliant Color hair dye,which scanned as Oxidizer <br /> HW("Brown Bin")(IMG 2895, 2899-2900).The store manager placed this item in the Oxidizer HW tote at the time <br /> of inspection. <br /> -A Toxic/Poison HW tote was found containing a battery(IMG 2901 and 2905).When asked why this battery was <br /> placed in the Toxic HW tote,while batteries were also found in the Corrosive Base tote,the store manager stated <br /> that the item was placed in the wrong tote.The store manager placed the item in the Corrosive Base tote at the time <br /> of inspection. <br /> -An Oxidizer HW tote was found containing Noxzema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream, although this <br /> item scanned as a Corrosive Base HW("Yellow Bin")(IMG 2907-2908).The store manager placed the item into the <br /> Corrosive Base HW tote at the time of inspection. <br /> All of the items listed above were identified as waste by the store manager at the time of inspection. <br /> The following observations were made in the pharmacy: <br /> -The pharmacy manager,Junabel Pedro, stated that loose pills are processed monthly and are then placed into the <br /> pharmacy's hazardous waste bin.When asked where the loose pills are held before they are processed,Junabel <br /> grabbed a container from the counter and stated the pills are held in the container. The container was open, <br /> unlabeled, and contained bagged loose pills, some of which were labeled with NDC numbers(IMG 2909-2910). <br /> -Documentation titled"Closed Transfer Detail Listing"listed Warfarin Sodium,which was sent to Med-Turn Inc. on <br /> 9/7/18 and 11/21/18, as"Damaged/Outdated"(IMG 2912-2913). Med-Turn Inc. does not have a permit from the <br /> Department of Toxic Substance control(DTSC)to receive hazardous waste. <br /> The generator must ensure that all employees who handle hazardous waste are thoroughly familiar with proper <br /> waste handling and emergency procedures. <br /> Immediately provide employees with initial or refresher hazardous waste training.
