IN - - = Y' _
4
a
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On August 5,1991,Nochant Environmental,Inc.(NEI)advanced three hollow stem auger soil
borings in and adjacent to the backfilled tank excavation at the Harken Marketing
Company of California(H MCC)location#100906,Stockton,California Work was conducted
in general accordance with the HM Workplan,April 4, 1991. Boring locations were adjusted
in an effort to maximize the data generated regarding gasoil ne-Impacted soils. Soil
sampling indicates that site sc)ils consist primarily of unconsolidated and weakly cemented
sequences of: silt, silty sand, silty clayey sand, and poorly graded sands.
Eleven soil samples •cera submitted for chemical testing in accordance with the HM
Workplan by Coast to Coast Analytical Services. Analysis consisted of: Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons (TPH), benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene (BTXE), 1, 2-
dichioroethane (EDC), and ethylene dibromide (EDB) using Modified EPA Method 8240.
Total Lead analysis was performed using EPA Method 7420.
Laboratory sample analyses results indicate that TPH concentrations range from noh-
detectable to 9,200 parts per million (ppm), and lead concentrations range from non
detectable to 120 ppm in the samples submitted for analysis.
Ground water was not encountered in the NEI borings at depths up to 50 feet bgs.
Reportedly, ground water occurs approximately 80 feet below ground surface in the site
vicinity.
4A
