The annular space between the well casing and the borehole will be filled with a sari
pack as described to a point approximately 1 foot above the top perforation in the scree
followed by a 3 foot bentonite clay plug. The remaining annular space will then b
backfilled with neat cement to a few inches below grade.
A cast-aluminum utility box with water-tight seal find PVC apron will be placed over eac
well head and set in concrete, flush with the surrounding grade.
*MONITORING WELL SAMPLING
The wells will be developed before water sampling by surge pumping or othc
suitable method. During well development, discharge water will be monitored visually fc
turbidity. Well development will continue until the discharge water is clear of silt and san
and PH conductivity and temperature of the water has stabilized. Presence of formatior
source clay sediments within development discharge water will be documented within th
field notes.
Following a minimum of 48 hours after well development and an initial water leve
measurement, the wells will be sampled using a Teflon bailer cleaned with Alconox an
deionized water. The bailer will be used first to obtain a sample from the surface of th
water in the well prior to purging. Any subjective evidence of product detected in the wel;
will be recorded. If no floating product is observed in the wells, a formation water sampl
R
7
