TANK CLOSURE REPORT <br />BEACON #610 <br />3300 WATERLOO ROAD <br />STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br />AMV PROJECT NO. 19042.01 <br />Acton • Mickelson • van Dam, Inc (AMV), has been authorized by Ultramar Inc. (Ultramar), <br />to conduct soil sampling as required during underground storage tank removal at Beacon #610, <br />3300 Waterloo Road, Stockton, County of San Joaquin, California. The site is located on the <br />southwest corner of the intersection of Waterloo Road and Broadway approximately 114 mile <br />west of Highway 99 (Figure 1). The surrounding area consists of commercial properties <br />1.0 BACKGROUND <br />Petroleum product storage at the site consisted of three 10,000 -gallon underground storage tanks <br />(USTs) Diesel fuel was contained in one of the 10,000 -gallon tanks. The two other <br />10,000 -gallon tanks contained unleaded plus and regular unleaded gasoline Figure 2 is a site <br />imap illustrating the former location and orientation of the tanks. Previous assessments of the <br />site have included advancement of nine soil borings. Results of soil samples collected from the <br />soil borings indicated detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil beneath the <br />site <br />2.0 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br />AND RELATED SOIL SAMPLING <br />The underground storage tank removal was conducted by Walton Engineering of West <br />Sacramento, California Overburden soil removed from the underground storage tank area <br />before the tank removal that did not contain petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations was <br />transported to the Sacramento County Landfill. Soil removed after the removal of the USTs was <br />transported to Ben's Trucking and Equipment, Inc , for remediation by thin -spreading and/or <br />bioremediation <br />On October 14, 1993, the existing USTs were removed Removal of the tanks was witnessed <br />by Messrs. Kenneth Earnest and John Vagt of Ultramar, Mr Todd Del Frate of AMV, and <br />i Ms L. T Briggs of the Department of Health Services, County of San Joaquin (San Joaquin <br />County) The tanks were inspected upon removal All three underground storage tanks were <br />found to be in good condition, and no holes were observed in any of the tanks The tanks were <br />transported off site by H & H Environmental Services of San Francisco, California, for metal <br />salvaging <br />RPI'016 pel) <br />
