TANK CLOSURE REPORT—BEACON #610
3300 Waterloo Road, Stockton, CA
AMV Project No 19042 01
-2-
A total of six soil samples were collected for analysts from the former tank basin on October 14,
1993 (Figure 3) The sample locations were designated by Ms. L T Briggs of San Joaquin
County Based on field observations of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in scpl, soil samples
collected in the southwest end of the tank pit on October 14, 1993, were collected at a depth of
20.5 feet below grade as agreed upon by Mr. Kenneth Earnest and Ms L T. Briggs. Soil
samples from the northeast end of the tank pit were collected at a depth of 13 feet below grade
One sample was collected at the west end of each 10,000 -gallon tank and one sample was
collected at the east end of each 10,000 -gallon tank Soil samples collected in the tank pit on
October 14, 1993, were collected at depths between 13 and 20 5 feet below grade The soil
samples were analyzed for concentrations of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes
(BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg). Four of the samples (TB -2,
TB -3, TB -4, and TB -5) were also analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd)
All six samples were analyzed for total lead. The soil samples were collected by driving a
2 -inch -diameter brass tube into soil retrieved from the designated sample location with a backhoe
bucket
Analytical results from soil samples collected from the tank basin on October 14, 1993, are
compiled in Table 1. Petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were not present at detectable
iconcentrations in three of the six soil samples (TB -1, TB -2, and TB -6) Copies of certified
analytical reports for soil samples collected from the former underground storage tank basin are
contained in Appendix A
is
3.0 PRODUCT PIPING TRENCH SOIL SAMPLING
On October 14, 1993, four soil samples were collected from the former pump island area located
at the west end of the site and from the former product distribution line areas. Locations of the
former product distribution lines and the fuel dispenser islands are illustrated on Figure 3, along
with sample soil locations PL -1 through PL -4 Soil sample collection locations were designated
by Ms L T Briggs of San Joaquin County Soil sample depths ranged from 4 5 to 6 feet
below grade Soil samples were submitted for analysis of BTEX, TPHg, and TPHd All
samples collected from the product distribution lines and the fuel dispenser area were analyzed
for total lead and EDB Copies of certified soil sample analytical reports are presented in
Appendix A Soil sample analytical results are compiled in Table 2 Soil samples collected
from locations PL -1 through PL -4 did not contain detectable concentrations of petroleum
hydrocarbon constituents.
RPT016 RCD
