' Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610 SSB 92-1001-01
3300 Waterloo Road Page 4
Stockton, California
5.0 PROPOSED WORK
' The proposed work is recommended to evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon constituents in the soil
and ground water at the site. The following tasks will be performed by SSB
' 1) Prepare a Site Safety Plan discussing the precautions and protective
equipment required for
' work at the site
2) Acquire all necessary permits from the appropriate regulatory agencies to drill and install
the monitoring wells
3) Drill three 10-inch diameter soil borings to a maximum depth of approximately 90 feet each
4) Collect and classify relatively undisturbed soil samples from the borings at 5 foot intervals
beginning at 5 feet below ground surface An OVM or similar device will be used in the
field to subjectively evaluate the potential concentration of hydrocarbons in the soil samples
collected above the saturated zone
5) Submit an estimated seven soil samples per boring for laboratory analysis (two samples
associated with the highest OVM readings, two from directly above the saturated zone, and
others at 15 foot intervals) The samples will be analyzed for the purgeable gasoline
constituents BTEX and TPHg
6) Construct one 4 inch diameter, PVC cased round-water monitoring well in each baring and
develop the new wells for sampling
7) Collect ground-water samples from the monitoring wells and submit the samples for
laboratory analysis for BTEX and TPHg
8) Survey the well head elevations and evaluate the ground-water gradient and flow direction.
9) Prepare a PR summarizing field and laboratory procedures, findings, interpretations,
conclusions, and recommendations
SSB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC
