' Beacon Cardlock Station Number 610 SSB 92-1001-01 <br /> 3300 Waterloo Road Page 4 <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 5.0 PROPOSED WORK <br />' The proposed work is recommended to evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon constituents in the soil <br /> and ground water at the site. The following tasks will be performed by SSB <br />' 1) Prepare a Site Safety Plan discussing the precautions and protective <br /> equipment required for <br />' work at the site <br /> 2) Acquire all necessary permits from the appropriate regulatory agencies to drill and install <br /> the monitoring wells <br /> 3) Drill three 10-inch diameter soil borings to a maximum depth of approximately 90 feet each <br /> 4) Collect and classify relatively undisturbed soil samples from the borings at 5 foot intervals <br /> beginning at 5 feet below ground surface An OVM or similar device will be used in the <br /> field to subjectively evaluate the potential concentration of hydrocarbons in the soil samples <br /> collected above the saturated zone <br /> 5) Submit an estimated seven soil samples per boring for laboratory analysis (two samples <br /> associated with the highest OVM readings, two from directly above the saturated zone, and <br /> others at 15 foot intervals) The samples will be analyzed for the purgeable gasoline <br /> constituents BTEX and TPHg <br /> 6) Construct one 4 inch diameter, PVC cased round-water monitoring well in each baring and <br /> develop the new wells for sampling <br /> 7) Collect ground-water samples from the monitoring wells and submit the samples for <br /> laboratory analysis for BTEX and TPHg <br /> 8) Survey the well head elevations and evaluate the ground-water gradient and flow direction. <br /> 9) Prepare a PR summarizing field and laboratory procedures, findings, interpretations, <br /> conclusions, and recommendations <br /> SSB ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC <br />
