Spill Release and Reporting aramar <br /> p p g <br /> Quick Reference Guide <br /> This applies to all facilities and vehicles. <br /> What is a spill <br /> o A release ors ill is any spilling,leaking,pumping,pouring,emitting or <br /> emptying of a chemical,process waste or fuel from a drum,container or <br /> tank that is released to a permeable surface,soil,groundwater,or to a <br /> storm drain,waterway or sanitary sewer. <br /> o The spill or release occurs when the material has left the original container <br /> or containment device and building structure(if stored in a building)or <br /> vehicle fuel tank. <br /> Spill Prevention <br /> SPILL o Conduct regular inspections of all tanks, drums and piping to assure there <br /> are no leaks or damage. <br /> o Assure level controls on all tanks and pits are functioning properly. <br /> o Ensure all chemical drums, totes and containers are stored within <br /> 4 secondary containment. <br /> '' o Keep containment areas clean of debris and liquids. <br /> o Provide collision protection for chemical storage areas. <br /> o At a minimum,maintain spill kits in chemical storage,wastewater area <br /> and fleet garage. <br /> Spill Response Procedures <br /> o In the event of a spill or release <br /> _ o Isolate the area <br /> 40 o Evacuate the area <br /> o Remove ignition and heat sources <br /> o Notify the GM and Spill Response Team <br /> o GM and Spill Response Team should assess the situation and <br /> immediately initiate the spill response notification(see below). <br /> o Control and contain the spill using available spill kits. <br /> ■ If necessary call a spill response company. <br /> o Use appropriate PPE. <br /> Notification and Reporting <br /> o Contact local environmental agencies(City,County)* <br /> o Contact Fire Department <br /> o Contact State Environmental Protection Agency* <br /> o Contact AUS Hotline(866-336-3752) <br /> _ o If oil was released to the environment,you may need to report to the <br /> National Response Center(800-424-8002). <br /> o If oil or gas released from a service vehicle,notify site manager at location <br /> of spill.If on a roadway,notify the police and fire departments. <br /> *Refer to the Spill Plan and Spill Reporting Matrix available on the Environmental <br /> Compliance website <br /> Training and Information <br /> 'Tro Refer to Spill Release and Reporting LMS module for complete details <br /> and information on this topic. <br /> � Qwled o Review available information on the AUS Environmental Compliance <br /> useful awl <br /> bca*�calitrbcoc�'�€��`cv o Contact the ARAMARK Environmental Engineering Manage <br /> r @ <br /> 708- <br /> Website including the spill plan template and the spill kit guide. <br /> 567-0275 <br /> Version 1/6/16 <br />
