Do not flash the receiver button if you do not hear a dial tone. This only delays your ability to get a dial
tone.
2. Be patient, you will eventually receive a dial tone if the phone system works.
3. Dial your telephone number quickly after receiving a dial tone.
4. Do not leave the telephone off the hook even if you do not hear a dial tone. This may tie up a useable
phone line.
Please note that cellular phones are also susceptible and may not work if transmission systems damaged.
If all else fails, try using a pay phone; until full communications restores:
1. Limit your telephone use to essential calls.
