' FINAL REMEDIATION PLAN <br /> MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP FACILITY <br /> REMOVAL OF UNDERGROUND DIESEL STORAGE TANKS AND DISPENSER <br />' Introduction <br /> The San Joaquin County Motor Vehicle Repair Shop is located at 444 <br />' S. Wilson Way, Stockton, California (Figure 1) . It is operated by <br /> the County of San Joaquin as a vehicle repair facility for all <br />' County-owned vehicles. The facility was originally owned and <br /> operated by a private trucking company from its inception until the <br /> early 19701s, when ownership was assumed by the County. The <br /> facility consists of several shop buildings and open areas for <br /> vehicle parking. <br /> Background <br /> A routine inspection by the Environmental Health Division (LEA) of <br />' the County's Public Health Department revealed that two underground <br /> storage tanks had not been properly abandoned at the County's Motor <br />' Vehicle Repair Facility (SITE) . The SITE is operated by the San <br /> Joaquin County Department of Public Works (SJCDPW) . The SJCDPW <br /> contracted with Stockton Service Station to remove the two <br /> underground storage tanks and all associated piping at the SITE. <br /> A closure plan was submitted by Stockton Service Station on October <br /> i20, 1993 . The tanks were removed on November 5 , 1993 . <br /> Underground Tank Removal <br /> As previously stated, the tanks were removed on November 51 1993 . <br />
