Soil cuttings will be placed on plastic and covered. Rinseate water will be pumped into drums. Disposal or remediation options for the soil and water can be assessed once analytical results have been received. Kleinfelder can assist the client with the disposal of soil and water if necessary at an additional cost. • The client will be responsible for locating all underground utilities and other subsurface structures that could interfere with drilling operations or be damaged during drilling. Failure to locate such lines or structures will be the sole responsibility of the client. Underground Services Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides this service free of charge for major utility lines. Kleinfelder can make contact with USA for a site visit, if requested. • Groundwater is not anticipated at the depths to be explored. If groundwater is encountered at greater or lesser depths than anticipated, costs will be adjusted accordingly. • The proposed scope of work and cost estimate is based on the previously described scope of work. If additional services are deemed necessary, the client will be notified immediately. I LVMATIONS Kleinfelder offers various levels of investigative and engineering services to suit the varying needs of different clients. Although risk can never be eliminated, more-detailed and extensive investigations yield more information, which may help understand and manage the level of risk. Since detailed investigation and analysis involves greater expense, our clients participate in determining levels of service which provide adequate information for their purposes at acceptable levels of risk. Acceptance of this proposal will indicate that San Joaquin County has reviewed the scope of work and determined that it does not need or want a greater level of service than will be provided. Any exceptions should be noted and may result in higher fees. Regulations and professional standards applicable to 'Kleinfelder's services are continually evolving.
