The following is an inventory of former underground storage tanks
(UST) located on APN# 101-21-32-
Former Tank #1, 1000 gallons; 4640 Waterloo, Laura Scudders; Site Code: 1929.
Former Tank #2, 550 gallons; 4638A Waterloo, Burruel Electric Site Code: 1827.
Former Tank #3, 1000 gallons; 4642.A Waterloo,Allied Van; Site Code: 1940.
k
Former Tank #4, 550 gallons; 4648 Waterloo, Paragon tures; Site Code: 1828.
The 1987 billing statement for former UST#4(enclosed)was directed micDrroctly to 4638B Waterloo Road
11 1
rather than to the correct address 4648 Waterloo Road. The approved closure/removal plan acted as a permit
.
for these former USTIs. A copy of the approval notice is enclosed',for yo6 information.
The contamination associated with former UST#4(benzene less than 500 ppb,toluene 1000 ppb,xylene
2000 ppb,ethylbenzene <500 ppb,TPH 37 ppm,TPH-gas 40 ppm'.,Iand total lead 74 ppm)was confirmed by
the Ramcon Report dated March 28, 1988.
Further investigation of the contamination associated with 10LIUCr USIA#4 was performed with two soil
borings,B-1 and B-2,drilled on July 7, 1988. B-1 was drilled to 30 Meet and field screening with an OVA did
not indicate contamination at that depth. A bottom sample wast takenat 30 feet, however the analytical
detection limits were too high for BTXE; (100 ppb instead of 5 ppb) to confirm that no contamination was
present.
Field screening of B-2 with an OVA indicated contamination begfiming at a depth of 30 feet, highest at 45
feet, and ending at a depth of 75 feet. Two samples collected in B-2, 45 feet and 60 feet, were analyzed.
Contamination was noted at 45 feet(TPH-3.4 ppm,ethylbenzene iOO ppb,toluene 1000 ppb,and xylene 500
ppb) and at 60 feet (xylene 900 ppb). B-2 was converted into m6ntioring well, MW-1, which is screened
.j p
between 40 feet and 80 feet with a 1988 static water level measurement of 63.59 feet. Groundwater
contamination,TPH 4.92 ppm,benzene 270 ppb,toluene 49 ppb,xylene 230 ppb,and ethylbenzene 5 ppb,was
reported in the Preliminary Report #38033-1,dated August 5, 1988.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
