(AGE) and has the following comments.
The report documents a routine groundwater monitoring and sampling event conducted
on September 27, 2004. Groundwater samples were collected from the site monitoring
wells and submitted for laboratory analysis. Analytical results were non-detect for all
constituents analyzed except for 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), which was detected in
three of the six wells sampled. The report recommends additional investigation to define
the limits of the 1,2-DCA plume, and to prepare an interim remediation plan for mitigation
of the potential impact of 1,2-DCA on a nearby receptor.
SJCIEHD agrees with the recommendation to complete the investigation at this site.
The extent of the plume should be determined, however, before active remediation
begins. Please submit a work plan, in the context of a site conceptual model, to define
the vertical and lateral extent of the 1,2-DCA plume at this site. The work plan is due no
later than February 25, 2005.
If you have any questions or comments, please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
