Groundwater samples were collected from the six monitoring wells and
one vapor extraction well located onsite. The samples were analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH) as diesel, TPH as gasoline, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and
xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide
by appropriate EPA approved methods. Results of the analyses were non-detect for all
constituents analyzed except for 59 parts per billion (ppb)TPHg in MW-1 and 1.5 ppb, 77
ppb, 5.3 ppb, and 5.6 ppb 1,2-DCA in MW-1, MW-5, MW-6 and VW-1 respectively.
The report recommends that the monitoring wells impacted with 1,2-DCA be sampled
three more times to monitor the trends of the contamination. SJC/EHD agrees with this
recommendation. Quarterly monitoring and sampling of the shallow monitoring wells
should continue through the end of 2002. The second quarter event will be scheduled for
June 2002.
If you have any questions or comments please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
-C' trait01
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
