PHS/EHD has
prepared the following comments for your consideration.
The report included the results of the recent groundwater sampling event. The samples were collected on
January 4, 1994 and analyzed on January 13 and 18, 1994. Since these samples were preserved in HCl, the
analytical results will be honored. However, please be aware that samples should be analyzed within 14 days
when preserved properly or within 7 days when not preserved. The results indicated continued contamination
of on-site monitoring wells.
The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)data sheets were not included in the report. Please submit
the QA/QC data sheets for these analytical results. All future monitoring reports should include the results
of previous analysis. Please refer to Aonendix A-Reports dated August 30,1991 and prepared by the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for further information regarding the contents
of quarterly status reports.
Please notify PHS/EHD 48 hours prior to the installation of the vadose well. The results from analysis of soil
samples collected during the installation of the vadose well should be included within the next quarterly report
due by May 13, 1994.
If you have any questions, comments or wish to schedule a site inspection, please contact Mary Mcays,Senior
REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Ernest M.
