[1pN gas=
August 5, 1988 AGS Job No. 38033-1
' Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California
screened portion of each well consists of factory-perforated
casing with 0.020-inch-wide slots and extends from the total depth
of the boreholes to approximately 40 feet below grade. The
annular space oppr, site the screen was packed with sorted sand to
approximately 2 feet above the top of the screen. A bentonite
seal approximately 3 feet in thickness -was placed above the sand
to prevent cement from entering the sand pack. The remaining
annulus was backfilled with a cement-bentonite slurry to grade.
The construction details of the well is graphically depicted on
the boring logs. The well heads were secured in cast-aluminum
utility boxes with PVC aprons. The boxers were set in concrete
flush with the surrounding grade aro have watertight seals. A
specially designed wrench is rec-Faired to open the box, thereby
reducing the possibility of vandalism.
On July 15, 1988, a geologist from Applied GeoSystems visited the
site to measure the depth to water in the monitoring well,
subjectively analyze the ground water in the well, develop and
purge the well, and collect a ground-water sample for laboratory
analysis. The depth to water was measured to the nearest 0.01-
foot with an electric water-level indicator. The water-level at
the time of measurement was 63.59 feet below grade_. This water
level was lower than •ax-ected, probably due to lack of. rain in the
area and consequent ,agricultural.ground-water pumping. Ground
9
APPA-ad GeoSystems
