Comments: Elevated levels of fuel constituents were detected in soil beneath the former USTs and dispensers. The tank site was
Y /1' over-excavated,removing about 400 cubic yards of soil. Confirmation soil samples in this area showed significant reduction
Datp: hydrocarbon contaminants. MtBE was found in soil samples three to four feet beneath the fuel dispensers. Groundwater was not
/ encountered during the tank removal and excavation activities. Because groundwater samples were not collected and analyzed,we
are unable to determine whether groundwater is impacted. Until we receive analytical data that confirms the presence or-absence of
((( MtBE and other contaminants in groundwater,we cannot concur with San Joaquin County closure recommendation at this time.
