Wilson Way Site Code: 9031
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received and reviewed Work Plan
(WP), dated 20 December 2005, prepared on your behalf by Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (GZA) for the
above referenced site to delineate the vertical extent of groundwater impacted by the unauthorized
release from the underground storage tank(UST)system formerly located on your site.
GZA proposes to install a monitoring well to be designated MW-17C, to a depth of 115 to 120 feet below
surface grade (bsg) with 10 feet of screened casing at total depth. Total depth will be determined from
cutting returns in drilling mud that indicate presence of a sand interval at total depth. The well will be
installed by advancinu 12'/4-inch boring utilizing mud rotary equipment to a depth of approximately 90 to
95 feet bsg to set a 6 /8-inch steel casing bottoming in a clay unit. A 6-inch boring will then be advanced
to total depth to set a 2-inch diameter PVC casing and screen. The well will be located between the
locations of CPT borings CPT1 and CPT5 near the former UST pit.
EHD approves the work plan as proposed. GZA proposes to collect a water sample from the well after it
has been developed and recharged to at least 80% of the static water level in the well for laboratory
analysis. EHD will approve this, but please add the fuel oxygenates to the analytical suite. The well
should be included in the suite of wells currently on the quarterly monitoring and sampling regimen.
Initiate field activities within 60 days of date of this letter. Submit a well permit application with the required
$89.00 permit fee and $297.00 inspection fee ($386.00 total). Provide EHD with a minimum 48-hour
notice prior to initiating any field work.
Questions or comments may be directed to the undersigned at(209)468-3436 or by mail (address on the
letterhead).
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Nuel C.
