l i
Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment Il ;
ARCO Facility No.5469
Stockton,California 4
Page 5
t,
rr
i
Task 3: Groundwater Sampling
il•
A minimum of 48 hours after the groundwater monitoring wells are installed, the wells will
be purged and groundwater samples will be collected:; The samples will be collected using
a disposable bailer, transferred to laboratory-supplied glass vials, and placed in an
ice-chilled cooler. The samples will remain chilled until relinquished to a state-certified
analytical laboratory. Strict chain-of-custody procedures will be followed from the time the
samples are collected until the time the samples are relinquished to the laboratory.
Task 4: Laboratory Analysis
}
Soil and groundwater samples will be forwarded to a California state-certified laboratory for
chemical analysis under strict chain-of-custody procedures. The soil and groundwater I
samples will be analyzed for TPHG using USEPA Method 8015/8020 DHS/LUFT and for
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), MTBE, ethyl tertiary butyl ether
(ETBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary amyl 'methyl ether {TAME}, TBA and
1,2 dichloroethane(1,2 DCA),using USEPA Method 8260.
Ire !1 i
l'
Task S: Waste Management
All generated drill cuttings, excess soil samples, and .wastewater generated during the fieldTM
j
activities will be placed on and covered with Visqueen plastic and stored onsite. A
composite sample will be collected from the soil cuttings and will be analyzed to determine
an appropriate disposal method. A licensed contractor will transport the soil to an
appropriate disposal facility. '!!
r
Task 6: Report Preparation
Upon receipt of all analytical reports, a site assessment report will be prepared. The report ,3
will summarize previous work conducted and present the findings of the proposed
assessment. The report will include but not be limited to analytical tables, a scaled site plan,
site geology; soil boring logs, certified analytical reports, and findings and conclusions of
the assessment.
Task 7: Quarterly
uarterl Groundwater Monitoring
The newly installed groundwater monitoring wells will be incorporated into the existing
quarterly monitoring program for the Site. Sampling activities will include measurement of
groundwater elevations and collection of water temperature,pH, and electrical conductivity.
r
C:1ARM54691Work PIan15469wrkpin.doc Delta E
p,
3/19/2001
