Wilson Way, Stockton, CA (Site Code: 1306)
Dear Mr. Infurna:
This letter report addresses the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department letter
dated March 27, 2009 by presenting a technical justification for the delay in pilot test activities at
the Former Harry's Auto Mart (Site). Figure 1 shows the location of the Site and Figure 2 is a
vicinity map showing structures and features associated with the former Harry's Auto Mart and
the adjacent U-Haul Facility.
DELAY OF PILOT TEST
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) requests a delay of the pilot test based on the following
observations:,
• Residual soil contamination is isolated beneath the Site. Soil samples collected from MW5 and
MW7 indicated no soil contamination was present. Soil samples collected from MW6 indicated
that only a trace of benzene and 1,2-DCA were present at the capillary fringe, no contamination
was found above or below this interval suggesting groundwater not soil contamination. A delay
would not likely adversely affect the public or groundwater quality. The soil analytical data are
summarized in Table 1.
• The groundwater plume is primarily beneath the Site and N. Wilson Way and a delay would not
likely adversely affect the public or groundwater quality. Figure 3 shows the most recent
intermediate depth TPHg plume and Figure 4 the most recent intermediate depth 1,2-DCA plume.
• The groundwater plume appears to be stable and a delay would not likely adversely affect
groundwater quality. Groundwater data are summarized in Table 2.
• Groundwater flow is predominantly northeast and northwest.
GAGROUNDZE\HARRYS AUTO\Reports\Other Reports\090415 Technical Justification to Delay Pilot Test.doc
