ii K
J. H. KLEINFELDER &ASSOCIATES
a
water surface elevations and flow nets may be developed in order to
determine flow volume, rate of transport, and zone of capture.
i
3.2 GROUND WATER MONITORING
r OB3ECTIVES
t<
f Ground water samples from the shallow aquifer will be collected and
analyzed once during the implementation of this Work Plan and later, on a
a regular ba,-,is
o Establish chemical and mineral concentrations for water quality
characterization
o Monitor the configuration of the contaminant plume
k o Predict operating treatment system parameters and identify
potential changing conditions
o Monitor the effectiveness of the tre-tment system on remediating
the contaminated ground water
o Verify that remediation is complete
APPROACH
Cround water samples will be collected by purging the stagnant well water,
F -
monitoring field parameters for aquifer stability, and subsequently
sampling the formation water. Sampling will be conducted by utilizing
r either a submersible pump assembly or teflon bailer. All sampling
equipment will be decontaminated prior to initial use and between
as successive wells via a series of washing and rinsing operations.
Distilled water will serve as a clean rinse and will also be mixed with
trisodium phosphate (TSP) to produce a wash solution.
