PHS/EHD has prepared the following comments for .
your information.
The report included the results of groundwater sa pling which was performed on October
11, 1993. No groundwater contamination was detected during confirmation sampling.
The soil investigation was initiated as part of anenvironmental assessment associated with
a property transaction. Once PHS/EHD was requested by you to evaluate the site for
closure, a groundwater investigation was requested. to verify that groundwater had not been
impacted by the unauthorized leak of January 1987.
The results of the soil and groundwater investig Ltion indicate that closure is warranted.
Once a work pian and permit application for we l destruction is submitted and the wells
have been properly destroyed, a closure letter wil be issued. i
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Meays, Senior RENS, at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/MM/707YOS
c: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB
c: Chris Meidl
c: Steve Osborn, Aegis
A Division of San Joaquin County Heal Carc Semccs
