a ��aencg <br /> AIL .�.. . a i peAw <br /> r's lire <br /> • D2 ,��� 16 PH 12' 19 <br /> Janualy S, 2002 <br /> Mr Sid Guevera <br /> 17717 Airport Way <br /> Manteca, CA 95337 <br /> SUBJECT INSTALLATION OF A DOMESTIC WELLHEAD <br /> TREATMENT SYSTEM, GUEVERA PROPERTY <br /> 17717 AIRPORT WAY, MANTECA, CA <br /> In reference to. <br /> Frank's One Stop <br /> 2072 West Yosemite Avenue <br /> Manteca, California <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> On October 23, 2001, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) sent you a letter stating that a <br /> domestic wellhead treatment system would be installed on your <br /> property's well, by Aqua Science Engineers (ASE), as a more permanent <br /> solution to providing 1,2-DCA-free water to the house's plumbing system <br /> A copy of this letter is included as Appendix A <br /> WELLHEAD TIREATMENT-SYSTEM DESIGN A-ND INSTALLATION <br /> On December 13 and 14, 2001, ASE installed a wellhead treatment system <br /> on the well located at 17717 Airport Way to remediate low 1,2-DCA <br /> concentrations previously identified in that well <br /> The wellhead tieatment system consists of the existing well pump a n d <br /> holding tank, which is then plumbed to two 250 pound activated carbon <br /> canisters piped in series Untreated water is removed from the well a n d <br /> stored in the existing holding tank Untreated water leaves the holding <br /> tank and enters the carbon canisters prior to entering the plumbing <br /> system for the property Each of the carbon canisters is filled with 250 <br /> pounds of virgin 1200 mesh activated carbon The activated carbon is <br /> used as a media for the 1 ,2-DCA molecules to adsorb onto Water leaving <br /> Mthe canisters is then free of 1,2-DCA At the point in time when the <br /> activated carbon can no longer adsorb the 1,2-DCA molecules, <br /> concentrations of 1,2-DCA will be found in the water stream between t h e <br /> - 1 - <br /> 208 W 8!Plnfado, Donv,lle, Colffornio 94526 • 92582&939) • Fax 925 8374853 <br />
