aquascie ice <br /> • <br /> . .� . -7 . <br /> AIL . engineers inc. <br /> July 6, 2001 <br /> Mr Clarence Copeland <br /> 1324 Trailwood Avenue <br /> Manteca, CA 95336 <br /> SUBJECT INSTALLATION OF A DOMESTIC WELLHEAD <br /> TREATMENT SYSTEM, COPELAND RESIDENCE <br /> 17933 AIRPORT WAY, MANTECA, CA <br /> In reference to. <br /> Frank's One Stop <br /> 2072 West Yosemite Avenue <br /> Manteca, California <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health <br /> • Division (PHS/EHD) directed the responsible party of Frank's One Stop, <br /> our client, to install a wellhead treatment system on an MTBE-impacted <br /> well located on Airport Way in their letter dated March 28, 2001 ASE <br /> subsequently issued a letter to the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD on April <br /> 6, 2001 that outlined an approach to immediately install a treatment <br /> system at well located behind the westernmost residence of the subject <br /> property, which was in the process of a property transfer That letter was <br /> subsequently signed/accepted by the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD See <br /> Appendix A for copies of the afore-mentioned letters <br /> WELLHEAD TREATMENT SYSTEM-]DESIGN AND INSTALLATION <br /> During the month of April 2001, Aqua Science Engineers (ASE) installed a <br /> wellhead treatment system on the well located behind the westernmost <br /> residence of the subject property to remediate low concentrations of <br /> MTBE previously identified in that well by ASE This well supplied water <br /> only to the westernmost residence <br /> The wellhead treatment system consists of the well pump, which is <br /> plumbed to three 250 pound activated carbon canisters piped in series, <br /> . followed by a treated-water holding tank for each residence, see Figure 1 <br /> Untreated water is removed from the well, pushed through the three <br /> carbon canisters, then enters the treated-water holding tanks Each of t h e <br /> 208 W El Pintodo Danville, California 94526 * 925 820-9391 • Fox 925 8374853 <br />
