Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-13 contained <br /> 9,100 ppb TPH-G, 690 ppb benzene, 41 ppb toluene, 560 ppb ethyl <br />' benzene, 8 6 ppb total xylenes, 1,500 ppb MTBE, 7 6 ppb TAME, and 1 ,000 <br /> ppb TBA Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-14 <br />' contained 24 ppb MTBE and 5 2 ppb TBA Groundwater samples collected <br /> from monitoring well MW-15 contained 1 1 ppb MTBE Groundwater <br /> samples collected from monitoring well MW-19 contained 590 ppb TPH-G, <br />' 0 70 ppb benzene, 77 ppb MTBE and 12 ppb TBA In general, these results <br /> showed a significant decreasing trend in concentrations since the <br /> beginning of remediation <br /> 2.23 Airl2urt )May Treatment Systero's Installation <br />' Between April 2001 and February 2002, ASE installed eleven wellhead <br /> treatment systems at properties along Airport Way to remove MTBE and <br />' 1 2-DCA from their domestic wells All of the systems incorporate the u s e <br /> of granulated activated carbon (GAC) to remove the pollutants from t h e <br /> well water One system, located at 17950 Airport Way, pre-treats the <br />' water with a residential air stripper prior to flowing through the GAC <br /> vessels Since their installation, the systems have been successful at <br /> removing the MTBE and 1,2-DCA prior to water entering the residences <br /> ASE performs periodic operation and maintenance, and Scheduled water <br /> sampling before and after treatment As activated carbon canisters <br />' become spent, ASE replaces them as prescribed by the regulatory <br /> agencies <br /> 2 .24 Al er a 1 v .
