i TASK 4 - COLLECT GROUNDWATER SAMPLES FROM THE MONITORING <br /> WELLS <br /> i <br /> ASE will collect groundwater samples from the monitoring wells after <br />' waiting at least 72 hours following their construction and development <br /> Prior to purging and sampling, ASE will measure the depth to groundwater <br /> and check for the presence of free-floating hydrocarbons in all site wells <br />' prior to purging water from any well Prior to sampling, each well will be <br /> purged of at least four well casing volumes of groundwater using pumps <br /> and/or bailers The temperature, pH and electrical conductivity of <br />' evacuated water will be monitored during the well purging Purging will <br /> continue beyond four well casing volumes if these parameters have n o t <br /> stabilized Groundwater samples will be collected from each well using <br />' disposable polyethylene bailers Groundwater samples will be decanted <br /> from the bailers into 40-m1 glass VOA vials, pre-preserved with <br />' hydrochloric acid, and sealed without headspace All samples will b e <br /> labeled with the site location, sample designation, date and time the <br /> samples were collected, and the initials of the person collecting the <br />' samples The samples will be placed on ice for transport to the analytical <br /> laboratory under chain of custody <br /> Purged groundwater will be stored on-site in sealed and labeled 55-gallon <br /> steel drums until off-site disposal can be arranged <br /> tTASK 5 - ANALYZE THE GROUNDWATER SAMPLES <br /> The groundwater samples will be analyzed by a CAL-DHS certified <br /> analytical laboratory for TPH-G, BTEX, and the oxygenates by EPA Method <br /> 8260 and TPH-D by modified EPA Method 3550/8015 <br /> TASK 6 - SURVEY THE TOP OF CASING ELEVATION OF EACH WELL <br />' The top of casing and ground surface elevation of each well will be <br /> surveyed relative to mean sea level by a California licensed surveyor In <br />' addition, the horizontal location (longitude and latitude) of each <br /> monitoring well will be surveyed to Geotracker standards <br />' TASK 7 - DISPOSE OF THE WASTE GENERATED DURING THE ASSESSMENT <br /> All waste materials, such as drill cuttings, steam-cleaning rinsate and well <br />' purge water, will be properly disposed of once the analytical results are <br /> received <br /> Frank's One Stop Workplan -- September 2003 <br /> ' -16- <br />
