0 <br /> The IC engine, moisture removal system, manifolds and control panels will <br /> be enclosed in a locked chain link fence The fence will require insulation <br /> for noise reduction with heat resistant foam boards at least three inches <br /> thick (sides only) <br /> A site-specific Health & Safety Plan has been prepared for this project and <br /> will be supplied to all personnel conducting remedial work <br /> 6-5 Pump and Treat System Modification <br /> 6 S 1 Additional Recovery Wells <br /> Two additional groundwater recovery wells will be installed west of RW-1 <br /> to enhance the recovery of groundwater in areas containing elevated <br /> hydrocarbon concentrations west of the current capture zone (Figure 13) <br /> These two additional wells will have a spacing of 30-feet, which is <br /> consistent with the spacing of the current recovery wells These two new <br /> wells will form a barrier for the movement of contaminated groundwater <br /> across the entire northern and western (downgradient) end of the <br /> property <br /> iThe wells will be drilled with a drill rig equipped with 8-inch diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers The wells will be constructed with 2-inch diameter, <br /> flush threaded, schedule 40, 0 020-inch factory slotted PVC well casing <br /> and blank casing The wells will be screened between 9 and 19-feet bgs to <br /> allow for pumping from the entire thickness of the water bearing zone, <br /> from above the top of the highest historical water level to the bottom of <br /> the aquifer dust above the silty clay layer Blank casing will be installed <br /> above this screened interval Lonestar #2112 sand will be placed between <br /> the well casing and the boring from the bottom of the boring to 2-feet <br /> above the screened interval A 1-foot thick bentonite layer will be placed <br /> between the sandpack and the overlying cement sanitary seal A Portland <br /> cement sanitary seal will be placed above the bentonite layer to prevent <br /> surface water from infiltrating into the well The wellheads will be piped <br /> directly into the existing NEEP system manifold (Figure 13) <br /> 6 S 2 Water Treatment System Modifications <br /> In order to accommodate the additional volume of water produced from <br /> these two additional recovery wells, the following modifications to the <br /> existing groundwater remediation system will be required A NEEP Systems <br /> technician will be sent to the site to install two additional het eductors a n d <br /> their associated mounting saddles, hoses and fittings The existing <br /> Frank's One Stop Remedial Action Plan -- August 2001 <br /> -22- <br />
