This hydrogeologic information does not explain the downward
• movement of contamination to the north It may, however, explain why
wells to the northeast (north of 17886 Airport and east of Airport Way)
do not appear to be as impacted as wells located west of Airport Way,
since deeper wells are likely to be required in the area to the northeast
9 . 0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FOR SOIL
The soil samples collected from 14-feet bgs in boring BH-A and 10-feet
bgs in borings BH-B and BH-C were submitted to Kiff Analytical of Davis,
California (ELAP 2236) for analyses These depths represent either the
capillary zone or the depth that appeared to be the most contaminated in
each boring based on odors, staining or OVM readings All of t h e
samples were analyzed for TPH-D by modified EPA Method 8015 and TPH-
G, BTEX, oxygenates and alcohols by EPA Method 8260 The analytical
results are tabulated in Table One A copy of the certified analytical
reports and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix H
The soil sample collected from 14-feet bgs in boring BH-A contained 37
ppm TPH-G, 48 ppm TPH-D and 0 016 ppm total xylenes The soil sample
collected from 10-feet bgs 1n boring BH-B contained 21 ppm TPH-G, 48
. ppm TPH-D, 00056 ppm toluene, 0 052 ppm ethyl benzene, 046 p p m
total xylenes and 0 012 ppm MTBE Please note that although
hydrocarbon concentrations were detected in the diesel range to both of
these samples, the laboratory reported that the chromatogram patterns
resembled that of aged gasoline rather than diesel No hydrocarbons
were detected in the soil sample analyzed from boring BH-C
10 . 0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FOR GROUNDWATER
10- 1 Analytical Results from the On-Site Geonrobe Borin2c
Groundwater samples collected from borings BH-A through BH-C were
analyzed by Kiff Analytical for TPH-D by modified EPA Method 8015 and
TPH-G, BTEX, oxygenates and alcohols by EPA Method 8260 The
analytical results are tabulated in Table Two Copies of the certified
analytical report and chain of custody form are included in Appendix I
Groundwater samples collected from boring BH-A contained 9,100 p p b
TPH-G, 4,400 ppb TPH-D, 10 ppb ethyl benzene, and 27 ppb total xylenes
The groundwater sample collected from boring BH-B contained 150,000
ppb TPH-G, 36,000 ppb TPH-D, 420 ppb benzene, 5,900 ppb toluene,
4,700 ppb ethyl benzene, 25,000 ppb total xylenes and 120 ppb MTBE
Franks One Stop Report — March 2001
-15-
