 Purge Water Disposal
Well development and sampling purge water were contained in 55-gallon
steel drums and were left on-site for temporary storage The water that
did not contain a significant amount of sediment was treated by the on-
site groundwater remediation system The remaining water will be
transported to an appropriate facility for recycling
8 . 0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FOR GROUNDWATER
The groundwater samples were analyzed by K1ff Analytical for TPH-D by
modified EPA Method 3550/8015 and TPH-G, BTEX, fuel oxygenates,
alcohols and HVOCs by EPA Method 8260 The analytical results are
tabulated in Tables Two and Three Copies of the certified analytical
report and chain of custody form are included in Appendix G
Isoconcentration maps for TPH-G, benzene and MTBE in the shallow water-
bearing zone are presented as Figures 7 through 9, respectively
Groundwater samples collected from off-site, downgradient monitoring
wells MW-13, MW-14, MW-15, MW-19 and MW-20 contained MTBE
concentrations exceeding the DHS MCL for drinking water The highest
concentration was in the groundwater sample collected from monitoring
well MW-13, on the northern shoulder of West Yosemite Avenue, which
contained 2,000 ppb MTBE Groundwater samples collected from
monitoring well MW-13 also contained 1,000 ppb benzene, 8 0 p p b
toluene, 1,100 ppb ethyl benzene, 1,300 ppb total xylenes, 8 6 ppb TAME,
and 600 ppb TBA
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-15, the off-site
monitoring well along the northern shoulder of West Yosemite Avenue
farthest to the east, contained 22 ppb MTBE, 56 ppb TBA and 58 p p b
methanol No TPH-G, TPH-D or BTEX were detected to the groundwater
samples collected from monitoring well MW-15
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-19, the off-site
monitoring well on the northern shoulder of West Yosemite Avenue
farthest to the west, contained 1,500 ppb TPH-G, 12 ppb benzene, 0 51
ppb toluene, 72 ppb ethyl benzene, 540 ppb MTBE, 2 2 ppb TAME, and 6 1
ppb TBA
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-20, the
. downgradient monitoring well farthest to the north, contained 92 p p b
Franks One Stop Report — November 2000
- 14-
