MTBE No TPH-G, TPH-D, BTEX or alcohols were detected in t h e
groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW-20
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-16, located
near monitoring well MW-13 but screened in a deeper water-bearing zone,
contained 26 ppb MTBE, 8 8 ppb TBA, 11 ppb ethanol and 58 p p b
methanol Although this MTBE concentration still exceeds the DHS MCL
for drinking water, this concentration still represents a significant
decrease in MTBE concentration with depth
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-6, just south o f
the gasoline USTs, contained 1,100 ppb toluene, 1,200 ppb ethyl benzene
and 7,200 ppb total xylenes All of these concentrations exceeded DHS
MCLS for drinking water No benzene or MTBE were detected in t h e
groundwater samples collected from monitoring well MW-6
Only trace concentrations of MTBE, below the DHS MCL for drinking water
of 5 ppb, were detected in groundwater samples collected from
monitoring wells MW-3, MW-4, MW-8, and MW-9
No TPH-G, TPH-D, BTEX, or oxygenates were detected in groundwater
• samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-7, MW-10,
MW-11, MW-12, MW-17, and MW-18
PCE was detected in groundwater samples collected from monitoring well
MW-1 at 2 9 ppb, which is below the DHS MCL for drinking water of 5
ppb
Groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-7, MW-8,
MW-11, MW-12, MW-17, MW-18 and the on-site drinking water well
contained 1,2-dichloropropane at concentrations up to 2 7 ppb, which is
below the DHS MCL for drinking water of 5 ppb All of these wells are
screened in deeper water bearing zones No 1,2-DCP has been detected in
the shallow water-bearing zone above 20-feet bgs
Other than the MTBE concentration detected in groundwater samples
collected from monitoring well MW-16, none of the compounds detected
in groundwater samples from any of the deeper water-bearing zones
exceeded DHS MCLs for drinking water Compounds detected in
groundwater samples collected from these deeper water-bearing zones
included MTBE, TBA, ethanol, methanol and 1,2-DCP Concentration o f
these compounds either did not exceed DHS MCLs for drinking water, or
no DHS MCL has been established for these compounds
Franks One Stop Report - November 2000
-15-
