5.0 DISCUSSION <br /> 5.1 Introduction <br /> A great deal of soil analytical data has been collected for the Franks One Stop site Areas of <br />' contamination have been identified In addition, a fair amount of groundwater data is available <br /> though no monitoring wells have been installed at the site The following sections discuss the <br />' analytical results from all of the investigations that have been completed to date <br /> 5.2 Summary of Analytical Results <br />' All of the chemical analytical results that have been collected for the site are presented in Tables 1 <br /> through 16 Hydrocarbon contamination identified in the soil at the site appears to be fairly localized, <br />' primarily westerly of the former UST's However, the site has not been completely characterized <br /> Additional work needs to be completed to characterize the vertical and horizontal extent of <br /> contamination <br /> Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, and S present a summary of all the analytical results that have been collected to <br /> date for vaned hydrocarbon parameters Figure 4 shows the levels of the TPH-G reported at the site <br /> The highest levels of TPH-G contamination at the site have been from samples collected at each of <br /> the dispenser islands TPH-G has also been reported in and around the former UST area The levels <br /> of TPH-G appear to decrease with depth in most areas <br /> Figure 5 presents a summary of the TPH-D results for the site Lake the TPH-G data, TPH-D has <br /> been reported at each of the dispenser islands and also in former UST areas The highest <br /> fconcentrations of diesel range hydrocarbons are reported in samples from the dispenser islands at <br /> depths of between 1 5 and 4 feet below grade <br /> Figure 6 presents a summary of the Benzene data for the site Benzene has been reported in the <br /> former UST tank area as well as the gasoline dispenser island The highest levels of benzene are <br /> reported in the soil samples at approximately 4 feet below grade <br /> Figure 7 presents a summary of the MTBE data for the site MTBE has been reported in the UST <br /> area as well as in soil samples from the gasoline island area <br /> Figure 8 presents a summary of all the groundwater data that has been collected to date TPH-G, <br /> I TPH-D, Benzene, and MTBE levels area reported on the figure Significant concentrations of <br /> hydrocarbons were reported in groundwater samples The shape of the plume appears to be spread <br /> along a northwesterly axis Additional work needs to be done to define the extent of groundwater <br /> contamination <br /> f <br /> Remedy, Inc, Interim Investigation and Remediation Report September 16, 1998 <br /> Frank's One Stop, 2072 W Yosemite Avenue Manteca, CA 015IIR RPT <br /> S <br /> I <br />
