1 <br /> 6.0 SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />' 6 1 Summary <br /> S011 BOrin 5 <br /> In May 1998, Remedy Inc supervised drilling activities at Frank's One Stop, 2072 W Yoserrute <br />' <br /> Ave , Manteca, CaLfornia Three borings were completed(B-11, CPT-11, and CPT-12) at the site <br /> Mud rotary drilling was attempted to collect continuous core samples at the site However, because <br /> of poor sample recovery, the method was abandoned at a final depth of approximately 34 feet below <br /> 1 { . <br /> grade Samples collected at depths of 14 and 33 feet were submitted for chemical analysis <br /> ` Two deep borings were completed at the site using cone penetrometry to gather additional <br />' information on site lithology and hydrogeology One boring (CPT-11) was completed near the <br /> former waste oil tank between the diesel island and the main building The other boring (CPT-12) <br /> was completed behind the building in the former motor oil tank location Samples collected at <br /> various depths were submitted for chemical and geotechnical analysis <br /> Remedial Sampling Alone Former UST Pipelines <br /> ISoil sampling was completed by Remedy, Inc in June, 1998 along former pipelines between the old <br /> underground storage tanks and dispensers The results of sampling showed that the hydrocarbon <br /> contamination was present along the pipelines and beneath the dispensers <br /> Over Excavation of UST Area <br /> In conjunction with tank removal activities completed p eted m June, 1998, Remedy Construction, Inc , <br /> over excavated and stockpiled contaminated soil from the former tank pit area The soil (total of <br /> I725 79 tons) was transported to the Altamont Landfill, Livermore, California on June 26, 1998 <br /> Review of Available Data <br /> This report presents all of the chemical analytical results that have been collected for the site in Tables <br />( � I through 16 In addition, Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 present a summary of the analytical results that <br /> have been collected to date for TPH-G, TPH-D, Benzene, and MTBE <br /> Hydrocarbon contamination identified is located primarily around the former UST's and present <br /> dispenser islands However, characterization of the site has not been completed Further <br /> investigation is required at the site <br /> I � <br /> } <br /> Renredv Inc Interim Investigation and Remediation Report September 16, 1998 <br /> Frank's One Stop 2072 W Yosemite Avenue Wanteca, C4 0151IR RPT <br /> 9 <br />
