Up to 9,600 ppm TPH-G, 9,900 ppm TPH-D, 9 7 ppm benzene, 500 p p in <br /> toluene, 190 ppm ethylbenzene, 1,100 ppm total xylenes and 10 ppm <br /> MTBE were detected in soil samples collected along the pipelines Other <br /> compounds detected in the soil samples collected along the piping were <br /> up to 23 ppm vinyl acetate, 15 ppm isopropylbenzene, 5 1 ppm n- <br /> propylbenzene, 330 ppm 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, 910 ppm 1 ,2,4- <br /> trimethylbenzene, 23 ppm sec-buylbenzene and 140 n-butylbenzene <br /> Approximately 726 tons of contaminated soil were overexcavated from <br /> the former tank excavations and were disposed of at the Altamont Landfill <br /> in Livermore, California <br /> 2-5_ Drinking_Water, Supply__Well <br /> Based on a well survey performed by Remedy, Inc in August 1998, at least <br /> 46 drinking water wells are located within 05 miles from the site, <br /> including a drinking water well on-site Groundwater samples were <br /> collected from the on-site drinking water well in July 1997, January 1998, <br /> April 1998 and July 1998 Up to 24 ppb 1,2-dxchloropropane were <br /> detected in groundwater samples collected from the drinking water well <br /> 3 . 0 SCOPE OF WORK (SOW) <br /> Based on the site history and discussions regarding the site with Mr <br /> Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD and Mr Jim Munch of <br /> the California State Water Resources Control Board, UST Cleanup Fund <br /> Program (Cleanup Fund), ASE developed a scope of work to provide <br /> necessary data for the site assessment The SOW completed for this <br /> protect was as follows <br /> 1 ) Obtain the necessary drilling permit from San Joaquin County PHS- <br /> EHD <br /> 2 ) Drill two (2) soil borings at the site to approximately 140-feet bgs <br /> using a CPT Collect a capillary zone soil sample and discrete depth <br /> groundwater samples from each soil boring <br /> 3 ) Analyze one (1) capillary zone soil sample from each boring and at <br /> least two to three discrete depth groundwater samples from each <br /> boring at a CALF-EPA certified analytical laboratory for TPH-G by <br /> modified EPA Method 503018015, TPH-D by modified EPA Method <br /> 355018015, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes <br /> 0 (collectively known as BTEX), chlorinated solvents and the fuel <br /> additives MTBE, TBA, TAME, DIPE and ETBE by EPA Method 8260 <br /> Franks One Stop Report - June 1999 <br /> -3- <br />
