4 ) Drill five soil borings to a depth of 19-feet bgs at various locations <br /> around the site for the installation of shallow groundwater <br /> monitoring wells <br /> 5 ) Install groundwater monitoring wells screened at depths of 9 to 19- <br /> feet <br /> 9-feet bgs, 55 to 70-feet bgs and 100 to 115-feet bgs in a location near <br /> previous boring CPT-11, and 55 to 70-feet bgs and 105 to 115-feet <br /> bgs in a location near previous boring CPT-12 <br /> 6 ) Collect groundwater samples from each monitoring well f or <br /> analyses <br /> 7 ) Analyze the groundwater samples at a CAL-EPA certified <br /> environmental laboratory for TPH-G by modified EPA Method <br /> 503018015, TPH-D by modified EPA Method 355018015, and BTEX, <br /> chlorinated solvents and the fuel additives MTBE, TBA, TAME, DIPS <br /> and ETBE by EPA Method 8260 <br /> 8 ) Survey the top of casing elevation of each well, and determine the <br /> groundwater flow direction and gradient beneath the site <br /> 9 ) Prepare a report detailing the methods and findings of the soil and <br /> groundwater assessment <br /> 4 . 0 DRILLING CPT SOIL BORINGS AND COLLECTING SAMPLES <br /> Prior to drilling, ASE obtained a drilling permit from the San Joaquin <br /> County PHS-EHD ASE also notified Underground Service Alert (USA) to <br /> have underground public utilities in the vicinity of the site marked prior <br /> to drilling <br /> On April 15 and 16, 1999, Gregg In-Situ of Martinez, California drilled soil <br /> borings CPT-13 and CPT-14 at the site using a CPT direct push drill rig <br /> (Figure 2) This drilling was directed by ASE senior geologist Robert E <br /> Kitay, R G Each boring was initially advanced to a depth of 140-feet bgs <br /> to determine the lithology at these locations In addition, pore pressure <br /> dissipation tests were performed at depths of approximately 36-feet bgs <br /> and 130-feet bgs in boring CPT-13 and 41-feet bgs in boring CPT-14 A <br /> report explaining the CPT procedures and presenting the CPT logs and test <br /> results is presented in Appendix A <br /> A second boring was drilled approximately 3-feet from the boring drilled <br /> for lithology for the collection of soil and groundwater samples A soil <br /> Franks One Stop Report - June 1999 <br /> -4- <br />
