• Memorandum
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD e CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
3201 S Street Sacramento, California 95816 Phone: 445-0270
TO: Kenneth D. Landau FROM: Gary A. Reents
DATE: 27 February 1985 SIGNATURE:
SUBJECT: SAMPLING AT MANTECA SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT; SAN JOAQUIN C
Enclosed are the laboratory results of the samples we collected at the subject
facility on 31 January 1985. Also enclosed is a map of the disposal fields which
shows the approximate sampling locations and accompanying results.
In reviewing the results, there is no significant increase in either BOD or
suspended solids in the irrigation drain as it crosses the facility property.
Total coliform values appear to increase and then decrease in the drain adjacent
to the disposal fields, but these results are difficult to interpret given their
relatively low values and the uncertainty within the statistics involved in
developing most probable numbers. Since the fecal coliform numbers are also low
and fairly constant it would appear that there is no significant contribution of
wastewater from the disposal fields to the irrigation drain.
Based on the above I do not feel any further action is necessary at the Manteca
sewage treatment plant beyond that which were requested in our cover letter.
GAR:cab
Enclosures
