Sludge shall be landspread and incorporated into the soil within 48 hours <br /> of arrival at the site. <br /> 8. Sludge shall not be applied to slopes exceeding 10 percent. <br /> 9. Sludge shall not be applied to soil with a pH of less than 6.5. <br /> 10. For each field that receives sludge the Discharger shall : <br /> a. Control public access for 12 months after each sludge application; <br /> b. Prevent grazing by animals whose products are consumed by humans for <br /> one month after sludge application; <br /> C. If the field is used as pasture, prevent grazing by milking animals <br /> for at least 12 months after each sludge application, and; <br /> d. Prevent planting of unprocessed food chain crops for three years <br /> after sludge application. <br /> 11 . If the applicable management practice or numerical limitation for <br /> pollutants in sewage sludge is promulgated under Section 405(d) of the CWA <br /> after issuance of this permit and is more stringent than the sludge <br /> pollutant limit or management practice specified in this permit or in the <br /> existing federal or state laws or regulations, this permit shall be <br /> promptly modified or revoked and reissued to conform to the regulations <br /> promulgated under Section 405(d) of the CWA. The Discharger shall comply <br /> with the limitations by not later than the deadline specified in the <br /> applicable regulations, as required in Section 405(d) of the CWA. <br /> 12. Any proposed change in sludge use or disposal practice shall be reported <br /> to the Executive Officer and to EPA's Regional Administrator at least 14 <br /> days in advance of the change. <br /> 13. The Discharger shall take all reasonable steps to minimize any adverse <br /> impact to waters of the state resulting from noncompliance with any sludge <br /> limitations specified in this Order, including such accelerated or <br /> additional monitoring as necessary to determine the nature and impact of <br /> the noncomplying discharge. <br />
