The purpose of thiE work is to conclude groundwater <br /> investigation and monitoring and to comply with fin 1 site closure. San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services (SJCPHS) issued and August 12, 1999 letter concurring with the <br /> July 19, 1999 Request for Closure. This work plan includes a proposed scope of work, and <br /> schedule. Field procedures are presented as Attachment A. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed scope of work includes the abandonment of the three groundwater <br /> monitoring wells at the site. <br /> As required by the Occupational Health and SafetyAdministration (OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Resp nse"guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120), <br /> and by California Occupational Health and Safety A ministration (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response" guidel' es (CCR Title 8, Section 5192), IT <br /> will prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan p 'or to the commencement of <br /> fieldwork. The field staff and contractors will review the Site-Specific Health and Safety <br /> Plan before beginning field operations at the site. <br /> The specific scope of work is discussed below: <br /> Monitoring Well Abandonment. The three monitoring wells will be <br /> abandoned consistent with requirements o section 13.17 of the SJCPHS <br /> well standards. Because residual soil contamination was detected in <br /> MW-1, the wells will be over drilled to approximately 30 feet below <br />
