A log of all cases placed on the pallet must be maintained and kept <br /> with the pallet. <br /> • Once per week or as needed,place the pallet on a trailer destined to the reclamation <br /> center. Clearly label the pallet with your facility's name. <br /> • The Reclamation Center should compare the cases received to the cases on the log and <br /> notify the Warehouse GM when there is a discrepancy. <br /> 8.5 Salvage and Donation <br /> • Please refer to the specific SOP's for both Salvage and Donations <br /> 9. Rendering of Meat products <br /> When meat products (meat, deli, poultry, fish, and seafood)that have been pulled off line due to quality <br /> problems and cannot be salvaged, donated or returned to the vendor, they must be rendered inedible in <br /> accordance with the following guidelines. <br /> A. OS&D Requirements (Perishable and Frozen facilities <br /> • OS&D will have an area designated and identifiable for staging products to be rendered separate <br /> from other non-meat product. <br /> • OS&D will have an area designated and identifiable for rendering containers. <br /> • Rendering containers will have a cover that can be shut tight and be labeled `INEDIBLE' in <br /> English and Spanish. <br /> • Denaturant ink will be available and stored within the area. <br /> • A standard company Rendering Log will be kept and maintained. <br /> B. Rendering Process <br /> • The OS&D person will remove an item from the staged rendering pallet. <br /> • The number of cases, total weight, code,product description, expiration date, date rendered and <br /> employee initials will be recorded in the rendering log. <br /> • All packaging will be removed and the product will be placed into the rendering container. <br /> • A small amount of denaturant ink will be sprinkled on the product in the container. <br /> • The OS&D associate will cover the container and ensure the cover is tight when there is no <br /> rendering activity. <br /> • The OS&D associate will inform the OS&D/Warehouse Supervisor when a rendering pickup is <br /> needed. <br /> C. Rendering Pg ick-up Process <br /> • The OS&D associate will record in the rendering log; the date picked up, who picked it up and <br /> total weight when the rendering company arrives for the container pickup. <br /> • The OS&D associate will sign the log and obtain a receipt from the rendering company driver. <br /> WICS Warehouse OS&D Procedures pg 15 of 16 <br />
