Product Disposition: <br /> 8.1 Dumpster <br /> • The hours a dumpster is to be unlocked and available to porters and OS&D will be <br /> posted and adhered to. The frequency of should be sufficient to maintain a manageable <br /> volume in OS&D. <br /> • The supervisor will monitor the dumping process as well as performing prescribed <br /> audits. <br /> • The supervisor who is responsible for the dumpster area must audit each pallet/bin prior <br /> to disposal in the dumpster. UPC's for a minimum of 10 items per pallet/bin must be <br /> recorded and then compared to the damage adjustments posted in the database. If there <br /> was unrecorded product found in the barrel/bin is must be brought to the attention if <br /> Inventory Control and OS&D for proper recording <br /> • Pictures should be taken of product being dumped if quantities are 1 pallet or greater and <br /> should be sent to the reclamation group. <br /> • All Dumpsters in the OS&D area or any dock door are to be secured when not in use by <br /> locking the door that accesses them <br /> 8.2 Composting <br /> • Product to be composted must processed by OS&D to ensure it has been adjusted out of <br /> inventory prior to being staged in the compost area <br /> • The Compost Handling SOP on the food safety website should be consulted to determine <br /> the eligibility of compostable product and material <br /> 8.3 R-Bills and IL's <br /> • R-Bills (Return to manufacturers) and IL's (Inventory Liquidation Forms) are both <br /> documents that are used to account for final disposition of un-saleable product. These <br /> documents will be originated by procurement and forwarded to the warehouse via email. <br /> All necessary shipping instructions will be documented on these forms. If the disposition <br /> calls for disposing of the product, it will be evaluated to ensure it is not a regulated waste <br /> and if it is not, it can be placed in a dumpster, the warehouse must do so within 5 days. <br /> (Note: R-Bills can also be used to document the shipping of good product back to the <br /> vendor) <br /> 8.4 Salvage of Baby Formula <br /> • Determine if the baby formula has been made un-saleable due to damage or mis-rotation <br /> and remove cases from inventory as an adjustment reason code 9 for Damage or code 19 <br /> for rotation. Securely stage product on a pallet awaiting shipment to the facility's <br /> WICS Warehouse OS&D Procedures pg 14 of 16 <br />
