Just a word of caution, when these nested wells are to destroyed, they will probably
have to be over-drilled with a 15" auger to total depth to remove all the contents of the
wells.
If they were separated, then the size of the auger would be the size of each boring or
larger.
I rarely see new nested wells in this area, due to the expense of removal.
For destructions we stay onsite for the total time the well is drilled out and grouted up for
well destructions.
For installations, we are onsite for the total time for the grouting but not for the drilling.
The final bill is based on time spent in the field and office time issuing permits.
If the work proceeds slowly in the field, it is possible that there will be a bill generated at
the end of the project.
If you have any questions you can send me an e-mail, or call me at (209) 468-3147.
Johnny Yoakum
Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
5
