Box 944212 <br /> Sacramento, CA 94244-2120 <br /> RE: Cost Pre-Approval for Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Location: Ted Peters Trucking, 1985 WlYosemite Blvd, Manteca, CA <br /> County Site Code No.: 1427; USTCFP Clai No.: 013513 <br /> Dear Ms. Sanborn: <br /> In a letter from San Joaquin County, dated June 25, 2001, Mr. Jeffrey Wong requested that <br /> three quarters of additional groundwater monitoring be performed in order to provide at least <br /> one complete annual groundwater monitoring cycle before closure can be considered. <br /> To accomplish this directive, Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) has prepared the enclosed cost <br /> pre-approval package for the groundwater monitoring of three wells for Ted Peters Trucking <br /> located at 1985 Yosemite Blvd., CA. <br /> Summary of Corrective Action Work <br /> The site is located on the north side of Yosemite Avenue, within the city limits of Manteca, CA. <br /> The property is owned by Ted Peters Trucking and operated as a commercial trucking facility. <br /> Currently there are no underground storage tanks on the property. <br /> 1. On July 30, 1997, one steel 1,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST was removed from the <br /> site. During tank removal, a petroleum odor was noted in the northern end of the tank <br /> pit. Soil samples collected at this time show the presence.of high levels of BTEX, <br /> moderate levels of TPH-G and high levels of MTBE. A limited over excavation was <br /> performed, to a depth of 8 feet and the pit was then lined with 6-mil poly plastic. The <br /> excavated material was then backfilled into the pit. <br /> 2. GTI submitted a May 27, 1999 work plan for the installation of three monitoring wells <br /> and the drilling of two soil borings. Pre-app�oval of corrective action costs for this work <br /> was received on June 4, 1999. The three monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-3, and <br /> two soil borings SB-1 & SB-2, were subseq Iently installed on July 19, 1999. <br /> 3. Quarterly sampling of the wells occurred o July 26 and November 24, 1999, and May , <br /> 1, 2000. The results of laboratory analyses indicated the presence of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in groundwater- benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylene (BTEX), and <br />
