PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
JOG[KHANNA M.D. M.P.H.
Health Office
P.O. Box 2009 . (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, ifo is 95201
(209) 468-3400
July 6, 1989 0,
Mr. Gary Brophy
1235 Slayton Drive
Manteca, CA 95336
RE: WORKPLAN PROPOSAL: 941 EAST Y SEMITE AVENUE, MANTECA.
Please be advised that this office has reviewed documents
submitted for the above referenced site. Our comments are as
follows :
REVIEW OF PRELIMINARY REPORT DATED JANUARY 3, 1989 :
We have reviewed the 3 January 198 Preliminary Report for this
site and find it to be incomplete. Addit-ional site information
and investigative work is needed tD complete this site
assessment.
1. Each report is to contain inf rmation from previous reports,
as necessary and available, t3 assure that it may be
reviewed independently. It ii not acceptable to reference a
graph, table, boring log, or Cher references, in another
report. Copies of the Canoni Environmental Services
Laboratory Report No. 85-052-3580 and No. 85-052--3776 for
samples collected in the tank pit on 11 February and 14
March 1988, respectively, were not included within this
report.
2. A site map indicating the sam le locations for each sample
collected from the tank pit oi 11 February and 14 March 1988
should be submitted.
3. Th-e location of each tank lab led by contents should be
shown on a site map.
4. Field techniques are good sc eening mechanisms, but
quantitative analytical resul s are recommended to support
"zero-line" definition.
5. First encountered groundwater should have been noted on
boring logs, using unified classification symbol found on
Plate P-3 of this report (enclosed) .
6. Water measurements should be reported in "ppb" not "ppm".
Contaminants such as Benzene could accidentally be reported
as "ND". see sample # W-27-MIJI of Analysis report
(enclosed) .
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
