PHS/EHD fiell notes state tanks in good
condition. Soil samples were collected at 16 ' BGS for
the fuel tanks and 7 ' BGS for the waste oil tanks. The
samples from under the fuel tanks revealed total volatile
hydrocarbons and xylene under all four tanks. Total
volatile hydrocarbons were detected also under the waste
oil tank at 5. 1 ppm. Benzene and toluene were not
detected at detection liixits of 0.2 ppm and 2 . 0 ppm.
Ethylbenzene was not tested for in these soil samples .
EDB was not detected undez the regular gasoline tank at
a detection limit of 0 . 2 rpm, but a total lead value of
6. 95 ppm was detected.
03-14-88 Overexcavation of the former fuel tank area and soil and
grab water sampling this date at 18 ' and 20 ' BGS,
respectively. Approximately 10 cubic yards of soil was
removed from the excavation. The soil sample revealed
xylene and total volatile petroleum hydrocarbons at 290
ppm and 580 ppm, respectively. Benzene and toluene were
not detected at a detection limit of 200 .0 ppm. EDB was
non detect at a detection limit of 20 .0 ppm and total
lead was detected at 29 . 5 ppm.
Groundwater was encountere I at 191 BGS. The water sample
showed toluene and xyl ne at 0 . 06 and 0 . 63 ppm,
respectively. Benzene and total volatile petroleum
hydrocarbons were not detected at 0. 05 ppm and 2 . 0 ppm,
respectively. Lead and EDII was not detected at detection
limits of 0 . 005 ppm and 0, 05 ppm, respectively.
10-27-88 The three MWs at the site were sampled this date. No
depth to water measurements recorded for this round of
sampling. All three wells showed levels of hydrocarbons
during this sampling round, with the highest
concentrations in MW#2 with benzene at 3 . 6 ppb. MW#1 is
located approximately 401 directly north of the former
tank pit area and 95 ' north east of the former dispenser
area. MW#2 is located approximately 601 north west of
the former tank pit area and approx. 75 ' form the former
dispenser area. MW#3 is located approx. 71 directly
south of the former tank pit area and approx. 50 ' to the
east, north-east of the former dispenser island.
01-03-89 Three MW1s drilled this date. The two soil samples
collected at 111 and 21 ' BGS from MW#1 showed TPH as
gasoline at 23 ppm and 2 ppm, respectively. BTEx at
