August 8, 1988 AGS Job No. 38053-1
Former Texaco Service Station, Manteca, California
All drill cuttings generated during excavation will be left in
piles at the site .on plastic sheeting and will be covered with
plastic.. Disposal of the soil will remain the responsibility of
I
the property owner. Applied GeoSys ems can arrange to have the
i
soil treated, if necessary, or removed to an appropriate disposal
I
facility with the owner' s authorization.
Soil samples will be collected approximately 10 feet below grade
//
from the sidewalls of the tank pit by using a hand-operated
percussion sampler attached to an extension rod to drive a clean
brass sleeve into the soil. The sleeve will be removed from the
sampler and sealed with aluminum fail, plastic caps and airtight
tape. The sample will then be labeled and placed in iced
storage. 1
MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION
Monitoring wells will be constructed in the borings using thread-
jointed, 2-inch-inner-diameter, Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) casing. No chemical cements, glues, or solvents will be
used in well construction. The sc eened portion of each well
r
will consist of factory-perforated casing with 0. 020-inch-wide
slots.. The well screen will extend from the total depth of the
well to a point approximately 10 feet above the ground-water
11
App/led GeoSystems
