• March 1997 permit for repair to existing system at "front main shop." The permit
indicated that three 5-foot diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits were added to
the existing commercial system (1754).
• September 1998 permit for septic tank destruction. The permit notes that an
existing house/office were demolished (1748).
• November 1998 permit for new septic system at shop building. The system
utilized a 2,000-gallon septic tank and five, five-foot diameter by 25-foot deep
seepage pits (1748).
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 220 septic systems
per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. Areas that are part of
the City of Stockton were not included in the count as it is presumed that those areas
are connected to municipal sewer services.
The Site is located in a mixed use region; residential subdivisions, businesses, industrial
facilities, and agricultural properties are all present in the area surrounding the Site.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for nearby properties, most septic systems in the area utilize leach
lines with 25-foot deep seepage pits; one permit indicated the use of leach lines with
sumps. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage on the Site would be from the current and future employees
and customers of the Site. Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin
County On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering
recommendations.
LOGE 20-24 Page 3
